
The PCMA Convening Leaders Conference is an annual event that brings together 5,000+ event planners from around the world and showcases the latest innovations in event technology, meeting design and business event strategy. Taking place in a different location each year, the conference is a tremendous opportunity for the host city’s tourism board to show their city to event planners. It is estimated that the conference will have a $100 million impact on Vancouver’s economy over the next decade. Destination Vancouver looked to Popcorn to ensure attendees had a great experience at the conference.
Tourism Vancouver tasked us with providing an elevated experience and level of service to attendees.
Popcorn acted as a “social concierge” for the conference – the go-to resource for all things Vancouver related. We monitored the conference hashtag on social media and watched social feeds looking for surprise-and-delight opportunities to really “wow” attendees. Popcorn also produced high-quality, real-time visual content for the PCMA’s social channels and designed various printed marketing materials for the conference.
This award-winning campaign won 2 notable industry awards: one from Destination Canada for “Most Innovative PR Campaign”, and a “Marketing Excellence Award” from American Marketing Association.
